YOUR TEAM CHAPLAIN
Mark Bordeaux
What makes a good chaplain?
CARING
Sadly, some feel as though no one cares. We've all had times of loneliness and despair. The reason your Team Chaplain cares is the fact Someone cares for them. Your Team Chaplain wants your employees to know someone cares for them too.
AUTHENTIC
Your Team Chaplain is the real deal. No need for pretense.
KNOWLEDGEABLE
Your employees will find assurance in the fact their Team Chaplain knows God in a real and personal way and has been a student of the Bible for many years. Their formal theological education and personal study has been applied to a wide variety of life situations.
WISE
Wisdom is knowing how to properly apply knowledge. A wise person will put into practice what they know to be true. The lessons Mark has learned through his own life experiences - both failures and successes - can help others find assurance and avoid pain. Your Team Chaplain believes "the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom" (Ps. 111:10).
EXPERIENCED
Your Team Chaplain has sought to connect with people in order to encourage, comfort, and help them find direction for years. Through practical mission and ministry experience, your Team Chaplain has served real people of all ages in different cultures, experiencing the mountains and valleys of life. Your Team Chaplain also knows what it is like to work in the secular world. Their work experience may include a wide variety of positions, businesses, and the military. Team Chaplains live in the real world and have experienced many of the same challenges as you and your employees.
DISCIPLINED
Your Team Chaplain has found self-discipline indispensable. Years of study and formal training in addition to serving in various ministry fields and secular jobs have required determination, a good work ethic, and discipline. A Team Chaplain does not take their responsibilities lightly. You ask your employees to strive for excellence while demonstrating an excellent attitude, good work ethic, teamwork, and discipline. This is exactly what they will see in your Team Chaplain.
INTEGRITY
Authenticity means what you see is real and integrity means what you get is true. Your team chaplain is real and trustworthy. Trust is built as employees come to appreciate your Team Chaplain for who they are. As trust grows, so does your Team Chaplain's ability to provide care. You and your employees may be certain what is shared in confidence with your Team Chaplain is kept in confidence. Your Team Chaplain will only divulge what is required by law (For example, threats regarding the taking of a life or child abuse).
DEVOTED
Team Chaplains' priorities are simple; love God, love people, and make disciples (Mk. 12:30-31; Mt.28:18-20). Your Team Chaplain loves God and has experienced His grace. Each team chaplain has devoted their lives to following Christ.
